INFLUENCE OF SEED HYDRO PRIMING DURATION ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF SOYBEAN (Glycine max. L. Merr) IN THE SUDAN SAVANNAH

Rapid germination and emergence is an important factor of successful establishment in soybean. Response soybean varieties to hydro priming duration were investigated under field condition at the Research Farm Faculty Agriculture, Kano University Science Technology, Wudil located Bagauda, Gaya fields respectively 2018 rainy season. The treatment consisted four improved (TGX-1835, TGX-1904, TGX-1951 TGX-1955) (0hour (dry seed or control), 4hours, 6hours 8hours) respectively, they combined laid out a randomized complete block design (RCBD) replicated three times. result showed that has significant effect on stand count plant height alone, there no effects number pods per plant, seeds pod, grain yield (t/ha). highest value was obtained 8 hour both locations. tested also differed significantly, where TGX-1904 recorded superior growth parameters compared TGX-1835 TGX-1955 Gaya. At Bagauda proved terms counts, heights eight weeks after sowing others. From foregoing, therefore, it recommended that, hours locations could be cultivated by farmers while for good crop yield.
